Melanie Garbutt MSF
Society of Floristry "Florist of the Year" winner at Tatton Park July 09
Melanie has been in the Floral Industry for numerous years and has been a consistent winner of competitions for the last 7 years, including the prestigious "Jimmy Nuttall trophy" at the Annual show on 3 occasions. An accomplished and gifted designer, her love of wedding work means that she creates innovative and immaculate workmanship, gaining admiration and respect from her peers. Melanie appeared on television after winning at Tatton Park, which resulted in invaluable publicity for both Melanie and SoF. She is looking forward to demonstrating her techniques and telling you how to achieve winning designs.
Alison Cooper MSF
Teleflorist of the Year 2009
Alison has been in floristry for 9 years, and is hoping to start her level 4 this year at the Welsh College. Last year she won the under-25 Teleflorist of the Year. Alison was one of the Young Designers last year at the show, so she is delighted to be invited back to the "Floral Fashion House" as her second passion is textiles and creative embroidery, so for her it is doubly appropriate. Her wedding design for the Teleflorist competition astounded the judges with its interpretation, unequalled design, and complete unity of floral material and textiles.
Donna Cann
Teleflorist Finalist at Tatton Park.
Donna has worked at Susan's Florist in Crediton, Devon for 6 years. Since demonstrating in the SOF Promenade area last year, Donna has been recognised as an up and coming young designer. She trained for 4 years at Bicton College, and at the AGM in April Donna received her certificate for passing Level 4. Donna loves using different textures in her designs, and is looking forward to putting all her new skills into practise as she shows you some of her unique design skills in the Floral Fashion House
Lauren Curry
Lauren is a well known young designer, won the UK skills competition at Tatton Park in 2008, and joined Jo Massie on the final selection course. Having worked with numerous European designers her work has gained in strength and design, and she now has the confidence and courage to "dare to be different". Lauren was a finalist in the BFA florist of the year and produced some astounding designs, including a table design that won first.
