City and Guilds Senior Awards ceremony
A special graduation ceremony was held at a top London venue recently to present awards to a group of florists.
The City and Guilds Senior Awards ceremony was held at the Merchant Taylors' Hall, Threadneedle Street, London on Saturday 17th May 2008
The ceremony was the first time that florists had been included in the Senior Awards, which recognise personal achievement and the application of professional knowledge in the workplace and 14 florists were presented with their certificates for the award of Licentiate of City and Guilds.
This award allows them to now use LCGI after their names.
Among them was Rosemary Hughes NDSF FSF, AIFD, from Leicester. She said: ‘I was fortunate to represent the floral industry amongst the VIPs and I was so proud of all those florists who had travelled from all parts of the country to attend this ceremony.
Any florist holding the NDSF can apply for this prestigious award. Details can be found on the city and Guilds website. Go to www.cityandguilds.co.uk and look under Senior Awards
